SE or DE — what should I choose?
SE (Single Ended) dreads have one end and are installed through a loop.
They create a lighter, more natural look with less volume.
DE (Double Ended) dreads have two ends and are installed from the middle.
They give maximum volume and a fuller look.
How many do I need?
SE:
• Full head: ~60 pieces
• Undercut: ~30 pieces
• Nape: ~15–25 pieces
DE:
• Full head: ~50 pieces (60 for extra volume)
• Undercut: ~25–30 pieces
• Nape: ~10–20 pieces
Tip:
You can mix both types — for example:
SE on the lower part for less weight + DE on top for volume.
Recommended mix: ~15 SE + ~35 DE.
Can I order a custom set?
Yes, I create custom dreadlock sets based on your preferences.
To get started, please send:
• reference photos (colors, textures, styles you like)
• photos of your hair (from different angles)
This helps me choose the right structure and create a set that fits you perfectly.
Production time:
Usually 7-14 business days, depending on current workload.
I will confirm the exact timing after we discuss your order.
Need help?
Feel free to message me on Instagram, TikTok, or email — I’m always happy to help.
How long can I wear the set?
I recommend wearing the set for up to 1.5 months.
Maximum — around 2 months.
This is the safest option for your natural hair and keeps the look neat and fresh.
Important:
You can reinstall the set again later.
However, wearing it longer than 2 months without removal is not recommended, as it may damage your natural hair.
How to wash and care for dreadlocks?
You can watch a step-by-step washing tutorial on my TikTok (video included below).
Washing
Wash your scalp once a week using diluted shampoo (shampoo + water) or a foam cleanser.
Conditioners and masks are not recommended.
Apply shampoo gently along the scalp using a sponge or fingers, focusing on the roots — not the dreadlocks themselves.
Rinse thoroughly.
After washing, wrap your hair in a towel for a few minutes to absorb excess water.
You can use a hair dryer, but air drying is preferred to reduce frizz.
If using a hair dryer, use cool air only — no hot air.
Do not go to sleep with wet hair.
Daily care
• Avoid tight hairstyles during the first 5–7 days
• Do not pull or tighten the roots
• Keep your scalp clean and avoid touching it with dirty hands
Hairstyles are allowed — just keep them loose and comfortable.
If irritation appears
Mild irritation can happen in the first few days.
Use a skin antiseptic (like chlorhexidine) 2–3 times a day if needed.
Extra care
• After swimming in the sea or pool — rinse with clean water
• In strong sun — use SPF or wear a hat
• Saunas and heat exposure depend on your hairstyle and sensitivity
A printed care guide is also included with every order.
How to care for the set after removal?
After removing the set, clean it from threads and elastics, then wash it.
Washing (synthetic sets)
• Place the set in a laundry bag
• Use the shortest cycle
• Wash in cold water only
After washing, hang to dry — it dries quickly and is ready to be reinstalled.
Washing (sets with human hair)
Do not use a washing machine.
• Fill a sink or bowl with warm water
• Add shampoo and mix
• Soak the set for about 10 minutes
• Rinse gently
• Apply conditioner or mask only to the human hair ends
• Rinse as usual
Storage
If you’re not planning to reinstall them right away:
• Store in a dry place
• Do not seal in a plastic bag — air should circulate
Fixing frizz
If the ends become slightly frizzy, they can be restored:
• Dip the ends in hot water and let them dry
or
• Use steam (garment steamer)
How to install dreadlocks?
I recommend going to a professional stylist in your area for installation.
If that’s not possible, you can install the set yourself — I provide
step-by-step video tutorials on my TikTok (for both DE and SE).
Installation tips
• Section your hair into even squares
• Avoid triangles or circles — this helps keep tension even
• Wrap your natural hair around the dreadlock base, then secure it with threads or small elastics
• Divide the set into two parts:
– half for the nape and sides
– half for the top
What materials do you use?
I use high-quality synthetic fiber (kanekalon)
Some sets may also include natural human hair ends for a more realistic look and movement.
How to remove dreadlocks?
To remove the set, carefully cut the threads or elastics.
Use small scissors or a seam ripper and gently lift the thread or elastic.
Be careful not to cut your natural hair or the dreadlock.
You can slightly wet your hair to make the process easier.
Then gently brush it out.
Important
Work with one section at a time:
remove → brush → next
Do not remove everything first — this can cause tangling.
Hair loss is normal
While wearing the set, your hair still falls out naturally every day.
But because your hair is braided, it stays inside.
So when you remove the set, it may look like a lot of hair — this is completely normal.
After removal
Wash your hair as usual:
shampoo + conditioner
What hairstyles can I do with dreadlocks?
You can wear them loose or create different styles:
• ponytails
• buns
• half-up styles
• braids
Just avoid very tight styles, especially in the first few days.
